"Aussi loin que remontaient les souvenirs d'Issour, il avait toujours été un solitaire. Souvent entouré de gens, oui, mais toujours isolé. C'était d'ailleurs toujours au beau milieu de ses congénères que le sentiment d'isolement se faisait le plus durement ressentir." - Invisibe kid by Atef Attia
When I came to the end of this novel I was in awe, thinking: Oh my God, what was that thing I've just read?
I wanted to read this book since it was published a few years ago, for having the title of a song that I really love, but I didn't read french books back then, only lately I crossed those barriers. And while this has been on my Tbr list for too long, I decided it is time to read it, and fortunately, I wasn't disappointed.
The story is mainly about the kid Issour, one of those who seem to live with people but they actually live alone, in their own thoughts. Beside having a controlling father, Issour was rejected by the first girl he loved, had some serious health problems, and his colleagues called him "freak", and like this wasn't enough, he was harshly bullied and terrorized by the popular guy Skip and his two minions. As you can tell, this can't lead to good results, so it led to liberating a huge evil power that turned everything upside down.
I was so absorbed by the events, and oh my God I can't express enough how angry I was because of Skip's actions!!
This book raised some questions in my mind, of which:
- Do we ever notice how the details of someone's life can make them the person who they are?
- Why people tend to judge without even trying to understand?
- Why do people choose hate and aggression over love and kindness? Is it too hard to be kind?
- Why most people misuse the power they possess?
- Why people take no responsibility for their monster-creating actions ?

Though this book showed me things I didn't want to see, I loved it: the story, the writing style, the plot twist, and all the details were beautifully created.
This book left me dumbfounded, especially when I saw the word " à suivre", I wasn't ready for it to end, and more than that, to not really end.
This book is scaringly real, and that is powerful.
